- Easy searching and sorting to quickly find calls of interest
Talking Caller ID
- Announces incoming callers on-screen and using Apple's speech system
- Customize screen sizes and time-of-day for speech
Answer Based on Who is Calling
- Custom ringtones (whatever you like -- songs, sounds files, voice recordings)
- Answer voice mail immediately (instead of waiting set number of rings) or optionally, forward directly to the appropriate voice mail box
- Customize greeting messages
- Call blocking (plays greeting but then hangs up, can block faxes and voice calls)
Flexible Dialing
- Specify rules for dialing long-distance and calling-card calls
- Dial by voice using a microphone
- Dial directly from Apple's Address Book
- Dial from almost any application using the Apple Services menu
- Dial via AppleScript/Apple Events (examples provided)
- Dial from the pasteboard using simple copy-and-paste
Address Book Integration
- Seamless Address Book integration allows PhoneValet to look up callers in your address book for call history and announcements
- Use your existing Address Book cards for voice dialing, and customize dialing rules
Call Actions
- Run AppleScripts for each incoming call with Caller ID info (examples provided)
- Send email (even to most cell phones by SMS) on incoming calls
- Run AppleScripts after voice mails are left (for instance, to add audio to iTunes/iPod playlists)
Apple Modem Support
- PhoneValet uses the Apple USB modem or a compatible internal modem (download modem test program)
- Modem can still be used for dial-up Internet service as needed — PhoneValet will yield the modem automatically for the Mac OS dialup Internet feature, and will start monitoring for calls again after the modem hangs up.
- Modem can be used to send faxes — PhoneValet will yield the modem automatically for your fax sending software and will start monitoring for calls again after the fax finishes sending.
- If you have a fax machine that shares the line with voice calls, PhoneValet will suspend voice mail when a fax is coming in and allow the machine to take the call
- When used with PhoneValet Home Edition, Apple modem cannot be used to receive faxes
PhoneValet Anywhere Network Features
- PhoneValet Anywhere is a paid value-added extension to PhoneValet that extends many features to networked computers.
