PhoneValet Call Tree: Solid, Professional, Simple

PhoneValet's call tree is a powerful way to provide information to callers. It can also take messages, transfer calls off-site, or deliver the call to the right person using Call Completion Technology™ (PhoneValet's auto-attendant-like paging system). It can even use AppleScripts on your Mac to perform system tasks and build dynamic announcements.

PhoneValet's voice mail levels the playing field, bringing the advanced capabilities of expensive phone switches to your business at an affordable price -- using your existing lines and phones.

How it works

You get to provide a rich tree of choices to the caller, guiding them through choices that can lead them to spoken announcements, mail boxes, offsite call transfer, Call Completion Technology (auto-attendant) and remote controls (AppleScripts).

Each type of choice has logical actions that follow. After an announcement, for example, the caller can be returned to the menu, returned to their starting place, jumped to a different mailbox elsewhere in the tree, or the call can be disconnected. This allows you the flexibility to carefully guide the callers to relevant information and choices while using the system.

Multiple listening options

PhoneValet provides you with multiple ways to listen to your voice mail:

  • Listen live — you can interrupt the voice mail message and take the call simply by picking up the phone to talk.
  • Listen later — listen to, save and erase recent messages, clear out messages as they're responded to.
  • Listen through the PhoneValet call log — a permanent archive that can be searched and sorted by caller, date, call length and more.
  • Listen via email or cell phone — PhoneValet can send your messages wherever you are, to the device of your choosing.
  • Listen by dialing in — PhoneValet offers full message management features over the phone, allowing remote control access.

To return PhoneValet voice mails from your Mac, just click your mouse on the person you want to call, pick up the phone when you're ready and the caller's number is promptly dialed for you.

Easy to set up

You specify the tree by using our intuitive voice mail configuration system. Your call tree can start directly with a specific action (like playing an announcement, or taking a message) or it can present the caller with a menu of choices to start. You can even start a specific caller at a particular point in the tree, based on their caller ID... a perfect way to help callers who always need to access the same choices.

Fantastic sound quality

PhoneValet's messages sound great on playback. PhoneValet automatically adjusts the recording levels so that your caller's voice is clear and easy to understand. Listen to a sample message. This recording has not been touched up, filtered or artificially improved in any way.

Natural, synthesized or imported voice greetings

PhoneValet gives you the choice of greeting your callers three different ways:

  • Your voice — Record your voice directly through your system microphone or by using any sound input device (like a USB headset).
  • Speech synthesis — Just type the text you want the caller to be greeted by, and PhoneValet produces a natural-sounding outgoing message.
  • Imported audio — If your business prefers professional voice talent, you can easily import audio files directly into PhoneValet.

PhoneValet's built-in voice recorder produces great audio, but we can also help with the positive image that comes with professional voicing of your greetings and announcements! We've teamed up with Holdcom, the leader in audio marketing services, to produce professional greetings and audio for your system. You can select your own "corporate voice" that you can come back to as required. Learn more.

With PhoneValet you won't have to wander around the system to configure the application: we provide simple tools to walk you through the process.

Mac experts: Compact files, AppleScript and more

PhoneValet audio files can be stored in 3GPP format, AAC or WAV. We prefer 3GPP (fully supported by QuickTime) because the files compress much smaller than in any other audio format, and the quality is superb. A one-minute message takes less than 76 Kb of disk space. That is over 200 hours of stored messages per GB of hard disk space. You could store over 191 continuous days of voice mail messages on a 20 Gb hard disk! For most business or home users that represents several years of calls.

For Mac experts who enjoy creating AppleScripts, you can supply scripts to run when messages are left, and you can choose to reference the saved audio directly in your scripts. To get you started, we provide several example scripts. Example: an AppleScript notifies iTunes about your recorded call and causes iTunes to save the voice mail message to your iPod for later review. learn more
